Every Picture Tells a Story

The smiling faces in the bottom one, from left to right, are me, WildChild, my newly graduated daughter and her fiance. It's hard to see in the photo, but WildChild had stretched his little arms as far as he could so he could hug everyone. You can just barely see his fingers on the side of the fiance's neck. But just look at that face. Is he a happy kid or what?

There's a story behind the photo immediately below. See, I didn't notice when I was getting WildChild dressed for the graduation that my sister had bought size 4 shorts....not 4T. There's a big difference, as I found out when we were walking across the parking lot to the graduation. WildChild had been instructed to hold Pa's hand because there were still people parking their cars. I'm walking a bit in front of them when I heard WildChild wail desperately "MA!" I turned around to find him still holding Pa's hand dutifully with one hand while desperately trying to pull up his shorts which had fallen around his ankles with the other hand.

"Fix it Ma" he cried. "Fix it!"

Since I didn't have a safety pin handy, I rolled the waistband down so his shorts would stay on. Though they still sagged gangsta-style, which bugged him. He kept hitching his shorts up all through the evening like some plumber....like he's doing in the photo.

It was too cute.

Ma! My shorts are too big! Posted by Hello
