Arkansas Timber Wolf

My great-grandfather is on the left; the gentleman on the right was a neighbor. "Bugger", the timber wolf, according to my dad, had not only been killing a lot of livestock but had also gotten so bold as to come into people's yards and kill all their dogs. It had become quite a threat to the community, so my great-grandfather & his friend tracked it down & killed it.

Must've been a pretty big deal, since they took it to the local photographer and had their photo made. Photographs weren't casually down back in those days like they are now, you know. In fact, this is one of the few existing photographs of my great-grandfather.
